Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time Patient Experience representative to provide administrative support to the General Medicine unit and ensure the best possible patient experience by coordinating services for patients and families. You will perform routine clerical tasks, triage calls, and assist with admissions and scheduling.

The role requires strong communication, empathy, and the ability to work with diverse teams, with a schedule of every other Saturday and Sunday 3-11pm.

Qualifications

• Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
• Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.

Responsibilities

• Providing positive and effective customer service that supports unit operations.
• Collaborating with referring providers and practices.
• Obtaining required authorizations to compile patient and staff schedules.
• Scheduling patients and supporting patient encounter.
• Recording and forwarding messages, triaging calls for urgent information or services, initiating call for emergency services.
• Processing admissions/discharges.
