AtVision Innovation Partners is seeking a Patient Eligibility Coordinator to verify insurance benefits and secure financial clearance before appointments. You will work closely with front desk teams and clinical staff to ensure accurate coverage details are recorded and communicated to patients.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, adherence to HIPAA, and collaboration with billing and financial counselors to manage denials and complex cases.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of insurance verification experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of commercial, Medicare, Medicaid payor rules.
• Experience with EMR systems and insurance portals.
• Strong communication skills to explain coverage to patients and staff.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient eligibility and benefits for all upcoming appointments using payer portals and PM tools.
• Confirm coverage details including copayments, plan limitations/participation and referral/authorization requirements.
• Identify insurance discrepancies or inactive coverage and communicate needed corrections.
• Notify patients in advance regarding estimated out-of-pocket costs when applicable.
• Explain insurance coverage limitations and payment expectations; collaborate with financial counselors for high-cost cases or self-pay options.
• Accurately update patient insurance details, policy numbers, and coverage notes in the system; ensure encounters are financially cleared prior to service.
