This role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and compassionate service, with shifts from early morning to early evening. Previous patient dining experience is preferred, and strong English reading skills plus basic computer ability are important.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection in a timely and accurate manner.
• Retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times and ensure delivery at correct times.
• Adhere to HIPAA policies and facility confidentiality and patient rights.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
