Job summary

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Dining Associate to support on-unit dining services. You will help patients with menu selections, assemble and deliver meals, and work closely with nursing and culinary teams to ensure accuracy and timely service.

The role requires clear communication, basic math and computer skills, and adherence to HIPAA and sanitation standards. Previous food service experience is preferred, with opportunities to grow within a patient-centered healthcare

Qualifications

• Clear communication with patients and team members.
• Ability to perform basic math for meal counts and portions.
• Proficiency with basic computer tasks used in patient dining workflows.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand menu selections and coordinate with nursing to meet nutritional requirements.
• Determine menu alternatives for allergies, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences, and patient inquiries.
• Assemble meals by tray according to patient selections and retrieve trays on schedule.
• Follow HIPAA, HACCP, and sanitation policies and ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring meals for patients on special diets or calorie-controlled plans.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly cleaning per Food Service policies.
• Adhere to health, sanitation, and department procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
