Job summary

Morrison Healthcare at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC, is hiring a Patient Dining Associate (Dietary Aide) for full-time 12-hour shifts. You will assist patients with menu selections, assemble and deliver meals, and ensure accuracy and timeliness on each tray.

Candidates should have prior food service/dietary aide experience and be able to lift up to 100 pounds. Rotating weekends and adherence to HIPAA and safety standards are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Determine menu alternatives for allergies, sensitivities, or religious/cultural preferences.
• Assemble meals according to each patient’s selection and retrieve trays on schedule.
• Comply with federal, state and JCAHO standards and HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Follow facility infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians by monitoring patients on special diets as needed.
• Communicate issues to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly reports per Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Adhere to sanitation regulations and department procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
