The role involves helping patients with menu selections, assembling meals, and delivering trays to assigned units, with rotating weekends and 12-hour shifts.

Ideal candidates have prior food service or dietary aide experience and must meet health and safety standards, including HIPAA and HACCP guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, and maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements.
• Determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, or cultural/religious preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection; retrieve trays on schedule.
• Comply with federal, state, and JCAHO standards; follow HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Assist dietitians and monitor patients on specific diets as required.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as required by Morrison Healthcare policies.
