We are hiring immediately for full-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE - DIETARY AIDE positions.

Location: Novant Health Rowan Medical Center - 612 Mocksville Avenue, Salisbury, NC 28144. Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time schedules. Days may vary, 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, including alternating weekends. More details upon interview.

Requirement: Previous dietary aide, customer service, and fast food restaurant experience are preferred but not required.

Pay Range: $17.00 per hour to $20.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in healthcare facilities, helping patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction by delivering accurate meals at the right time and temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist patients with menu understanding and coordinate with nursing to meet nutritional needs.
• Work with the culinary team to accommodate food allergies, cultural, ethnic, religious preferences, or additional patient inquiries.
• Manage tray tickets, assemble meals accurately and timely, and retrieve trays from patient rooms.
• Comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets or calorie counts.
• Communicate patient concerns promptly to appropriate personnel.
• Complete required reports and comply with health and sanitation regulations.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food delivery carts.
