Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements.
• Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for allergies, preferences, or additional selections.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection and retrieve trays on schedule.
• Complies with regulatory agency standards, HIPAA, and patient rights policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and maintaining clean work stations.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on restricted diets or specific calorie counts.
• Communicate issues to appropriate personnel promptly and complete reports as outlined.
• Adhere to health, sanitation, and department procedures.
