Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in understanding menu selections and coordinate with nursing to ensure nutritional requirements are met.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to offer menu alternatives for allergies, sensitivities, cultural or religious preferences.
• Assemble meals from tray tickets accurately and retrieve trays from patient rooms on time.
• Comply with federal, state and JCAHO standards; adhere to HIPAA policies and patient rights.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning stations, and breaking down the tray line.
• Follow facility infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on restricted diets or calorie counts.
• Communicate issues to appropriate personnel promptly according to department procedures.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly reports as per Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Adhere to health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
