Orthopaedic Specialty Institute Medical Group of Orange County in Laguna Hills seeks a Part-Time Surgery Coordinator to schedule procedures, obtain medical clearances, and handle authorizations using the EMR system.
The role requires a High School Diploma, 1 year of Neurosurgery/Medical Practice experience, and familiarity with NextGen. Strong organization and communication skills are essential; shifts are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8 hours per day.
Part-Time Work Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (8 hr shifts)
This position is responsible for coordinating patient surgeries, including scheduling procedures and obtaining medical clearances. This is a Part-Time Non-Exempt position.
Standard office equipment including computers, iPad, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving, mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. There is a combination of office and clinical settings.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulder level and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb; or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds, with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Requires working under stressful conditions.
