Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator at our Lutz facility for a PRN role. You will greet patients, register them, answer calls, verify insurance, and assist before and after procedures. Prior authorization and CPR may be required for mobile/fixed radiology settings.

Strong customer service and privacy compliance are essential. The role supports multiple sites, requires a high school diploma, and offers flexible scheduling with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification must be obtained prior to hire for Mobile Radiology/Oncology; CPR certification a plus for Fixed Radiology.
• Ability to work at several locations and travel as needed.
• HIPAA regulations knowledge and patient privacy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Perform patient registration in systems.
• Answers phone calls professionally and courteously.
• May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when needed.
• May perform preliminary screening of patients prior to procedures.
