Job summary

Anew Behavioral Health in Mount Vernon, NY seeks a friendly Receptionist to coordinate appointments, verify insurance, and support client check-in. You will greet clients, collect information, and update the EHR while providing excellent customer service and HIPAA compliance.

This full-time role operates on-site 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, collaborating with billing and staff to ensure smooth patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in appointment scheduling or customer service preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and EHR platforms.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy rules.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet clients and notify providers of arrivals.
• Check in clients and update electronic health records with completed paperwork.
• Verify insurance and collect co-pays at arrival and during scheduling.
• Schedule new intake appointments and explain what to bring and expect.
• Orient clients to the space and provide patient rights and privacy information.
• Answer calls professionally and handle appointment inquiries.
