Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a receptionist for The Springs Medical Center in Louisville, KY. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, and maintain records and accounts in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The role requires strong customer service, effective communication, and basic computer skills in an integrated health system. Experience in healthcare is preferred and the team values collaborative patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent required.
• One year healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; professional phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.
• Check patient into the electronic medical record.
• Ensure patient packet questionnaire is complete, if not assist patient in completing.
• Address patients questions or needs.
• Review MD visit orders to manage and expedite ordered care (e.g., referrals, follow up visits, DME orders, test orders and medication orders).
• Print paperwork for patient education and/or test instructions.
• Check patient out of the electronic medical record at completion of visit.
• Supports goals of department/organization. Works as a team player by enhancing team effectiveness, supporting, and assisting team members, the department and/or the organization.
