Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a part-time Guest Support Services staff member to operate the hospital's telephone paging, alert, and contingency recall systems. You will greet patients and visitors, issue passes, and coordinate with clinical staff while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities include directing calls, escorting visitors, and rotating desk assignments using EPIC and paging directories.

Qualifications

• High School level of education preferred.
• 1-2 years' experience in a related role.
• Experience with telecommunications equipment and paging systems.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA policy.
• Strong customer service and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones and greets patients and visitors in a professional manner.
• Transfers calls to appropriate person or department and assists in placing outgoing calls.
• Provides visitor passes and room information as needed.
• Escort visitors to the Emergency Room or other areas.
• Accesses patient information in EPIC to direct outpatients and visitors correctly.
• Notifies supervisors of issues and assists in training Guest Support Services.
