Job summary

Cardinal Health's Fairbanks Urology is seeking a Patient Concierge/Front Desk Associate to warmly greet patients, confirm demographics and insurance, answer phones, and schedule providers.

You will enter and verify information, handle payments, obtain insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and maintain accurate records to ensure timely processing and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary.
• Typing speed 40 wpm preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• One year of medical office experience preferred.
• Experience accessing and updating an EMR system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families.
• Answer center telephones, distribute faxes, and prepare customer files.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Receive and correctly record receipts of patient payments.
• Enter, verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
• Obtain insurance verifications (VOB), pre-authorizations and pre-determinations.
• Process requests for records from outside sources.
• Scan data into document imaging software.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
• Perform any other functions as required by management.

What Patient Concierge contributes to Cardinal Health

Practice Operations Management oversees the business and administrative operations of a medical practice.

The Patient Concierge, Front Desk Associate is the first point of contact for patients and family members at Fairbanks Urology. This position is responsible for greeting patients, confirming demographic and insurance information, answering phones, provider scheduling, as well as other duties as assigned. Customer service skills and attention to detail are important to this role's success.
