Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a part-time phlebotomist for Salem Hospital. The role collects and processes blood specimens, ensuring patient identification, labeling accuracy, and safe transport for laboratory testing.

The position requires High School Diploma or equivalent, with phlebotomy training preferred. Candidates should have strong communication skills, work well in a team, and follow HIPAA and safety regulations. Onsite work with 25 hours weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy course preferred.
• Demonstrates proficiency in proper collection methods, labeling, and specimen processing.

Responsibilities

• Obtains quality blood samples using phlebotomy methods for all ages.
• Ensures accurate patient identification, labeling, processing and transport of specimens.
• May assist in patient recovery from adverse reactions and respond to emergencies.
• Communicates effectively with patients and care teams to ensure satisfaction.
• Handles sharps and biohazardous materials per regulatory requirements and HIPAA rules.
• Performs other test administration and specimen collection as assigned.
