Job summary

Mass General Brigham is hiring for a Salem Hospital Outpatient Phlebotomy position at 81 Highland Ave, Salem, MA. The role is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with every 3rd Saturday rotation.

You will collect and process blood specimens for laboratory testing and support patient care teams in a fast-paced setting. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or Equivalent; phlebotomy training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains quality blood samples using a variety of phlebotomy methods for all age groups.
• Ensures accurate patient identification, quality specimen labeling, processing, handling, and transportation of specimens.
• May assist in the recovery of patients experiencing adverse reactions and provide a rapid response to medical emergencies in the inpatient setting.
• Communicates effectively with patients and patient care teams, explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Handles sharps and biohazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Works fluently with computer programs and systems, and complies with HIPAA regulations.
• Performs other test administration and specimen collection as assigned.
