Responsibilities

• Obtains quality blood samples using phlebotomy methods for all ages.
• Ensures accurate patient identification, labeling, processing and transport of specimens.
• May assist in patient emergencies and rapid response in inpatient settings.
• Communicates clearly with patients and care teams to ensure satisfaction.
• Handles sharps and biohazardous materials per regulatory requirements and HIPAA compliance.
• Works with computer systems for test orders and results.
