Job summary

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and prepare specimens following procedures.
• Label, centrifuge, store and transport specimens per test orders.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles where required.
• Ensure test requisitions match specimens and document maintenance data.
• Package specimens for transport and follow quality protocols.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and wear PPE.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer inquiries by reading laboratory results.
