Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care is seeking a Lab Assistant to collect venous and capillary blood samples from pediatric to geriatric patients. You will handle LIS-based orders, print and deliver reports, and assist in basic testing under supervision in a hospital laboratory setting.

Must have a high school diploma, National Phlebotomy Certification, and at least 6 months of phlebotomy experience. BLS certification preferred; lifting up to 50 lbs supported in a dynamic clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National Phlebotomy Certification required.
• Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience in a working laboratory.
• Current BLS Certification preferred or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Collect venous and capillary blood samples from patients of all ages.
• Use LIS to place/receive orders and retrieve results.
• Prepare requisitions, maintain filing, print and deliver reports.
• Register patients in EPIC and assist in patient satisfaction activities.
• Assist in basic lab testing under supervision and support lab operations.
