Job summary

LifeLong Medical Care is hiring a Medical Assistant for the East Oakland Health Center in Oakland, CA. The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with benefits; compensation is $22 per hour. CPR certification and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program are required.

Experience in a community clinic or medical office is preferred. The Medical Assistant will support both clinical and administrative tasks, work within an interdisciplinary team, and participate in quality improvement

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and current CPR are required.
• Ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills working with diverse populations and previous medical office work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical providers by completing basic clerical and clinical tasks using Electronic Health Record systems.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist during examinations.
• Perform injections, basic in-clinic lab tests, phlebotomy, EKG and other tests as ordered.
• Maintain stock of medical supplies and ensure clinic areas stay organized.
