Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff by delivering basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, assisting with feeding and personal care, and helping patients stay comfortable and safe in a busy acute care environment.

The role requires BLS on hire and completion of a recognized nursing aide program or equivalent; recent experience in acute care or long-term care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have completed nursing aide training program OR successful completion of STNA/ CNA/ nursing program with clinical course.
• Current or recent experience in acute care, physician offices, home health or long-term care preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire (must obtain from approved source).

Responsabilités

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, hygiene, vital signs, and mobility assistance.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Deliver high level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the EHR system.
• Participate in hand-off reports of patient needs during shift changes.
• Perform delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Assist with patient transfers using safe techniques and encourage independence.
