Job summary

Ascension Via Christi - Wichita, KS is seeking a patient care associate to provide hands-on assistance with basic patient care under licensed nursing staff. The role supports safe patient movement, transfers, and positioning, and requires timely observation and reporting of changes in patients' condition.

The position involves 12-hour day shifts (7am-7pm) on a PRN basis, with a strong emphasis on maintaining clean, organized patient rooms and proper equipment care.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire.
• High School Diploma or GED or CNA certification required.
• Prior caregiving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance with basic patient care under licensed nursing staff.
• Support safe patient movement, transfers, and positioning.
• Observe and report changes in patients' condition to the nursing team promptly.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide hands‑on assistance with basic patient care under the guidance of licensed nursing staff
• Support safe patient movement, transfers, and positioning
• Observe and report changes in patients' physical, emotional, or mental condition to the nursing team promptly
• Maintain clean, organized patient rooms and ensure medical equipment is properly cared for and ready for use

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED or an active CNA Certification required.
