Job summary

Endeavor Health in Elmhurst, IL is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Inpatient General Pulmonary Unit at the Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus. This full-time role offers 36 hours per week with three 12-hour shifts from 7am to 7:30pm and a weekend/holiday rotation schedule.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will perform patient care tasks to ensure comfort and safety, leveraging CPR certification and prior nursing assistant experience.

Qualifications

• CPR certification current American Heart Association
• Experience: 6 months of patient care experience or equivalent or nursing clinical rotation
• Completion of care Companion Course within six months if required by department
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, and ability to follow directions

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care tasks and procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse to ensure patient comfort, safety and well-being.

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Hours:7am-7:30pm (three 12 hour shifts) with every 3rd weekend rotation and holiday track

What you will do

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
