Job summary

Endeavor Health in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Inpatient General Pulmonary Unit. This full-time role is 36 hours/week, with shifts 7am-7:30pm, three 12-hour shifts and a rotating weekend/holiday schedule, located at Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus.

Under RN supervision, the Technician performs patient care tasks to ensure comfort and safety. CPR certification, nursing assistant training or equivalent experience, and strong interpersonal skills are required.

Qualifications

• CPR certification by American Heart Association is required.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of patient care experience.
• Ability to work under RN supervision with strong teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care tasks and procedures to ensure comfort and safety.
• Follow established procedures under the direction of an RN.

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Care Technician - Inpatient General Pulmonary Unit
• Location: Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus - 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126
• Full-Time: 36 hours per week
• Hours:7am-7:30pm (three 12 hour shifts) with every 3rd weekend rotation and holiday track

What you will do:

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need:

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
