Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN, seeks a PRN nurse aide in the Progressive Care department. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor patients, document care, and ensure clean rooms and ready equipment.

This role requires a BLS certification within 30 days, with Nurse Aide preferred. Education: high school diploma equivalency or 1 year of related experience; licensure can substitute education or experience where applicable.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Nurse Aide preferred.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: assisting with daily living activities to ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Clinical Monitoring: observing patients and reporting updates to the nursing team.
• Documentation & Compliance: maintaining accurate patient records and logging care activities.
• Environmental Management: overseeing cleanliness of patient rooms and readiness of medical equipment.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Direct Patient Care: Assisting with daily living activities (hygiene, mobility, and positioning) to ensure patient comfort and safety.

• Clinical Monitoring: Observing patients for physical or emotional changes and immediately reporting updates to the nursing team.

• Documentation & Compliance: Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring all care activities are properly logged.

• Environmental Management: Overseeing the cleanliness of patient rooms and the readiness of medical equipment.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Nurse Aide preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
