Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN seeks an experienced RN for the Emergency Department. You will provide direct nursing care, follow clinical protocols, and coordinate multidisciplinary care to ensure safe, high‑quality treatment tailored to each patient.

You will lead care coordination across teams, manage discharge planning, and support a smooth patient journey from admission to recovery, in a collaborative, patient‑centered environment.

Qualifications

• ALCS within 6 months of hire date or transfer date.
• BLS within 1 month of hire date or transfer date.
• PALS within 6 months of hire date or transfer date.
• Licensed RN credentialed from Tennessee Board of Nursing or compact-state recognition required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination of care across multiple medical disciplines, serving as the central point of contact to ensure a seamless and well-organized experience for the patient.
• Manage the full patient journey by implementing care plans and proactively coordinating discharge needs with the healthcare team to ensure a safe transition to the next stage of recover.

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education: :

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
