Freeman Health System is seeking a flexible and patient-focused professional to support nursing staff as a patient care assistant and unit secretary. You may rotate between care and clerical tasks to ensure smooth unit operations.

The role requires completion of a PCA or CNA certificate or enrollment in an RN program with fundamentals of nursing completed. Excellent communication and coordination with departments and physicians are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of clerical or medical terminology course.
• PCA or CNA course completion certificate.
• RN degree program enrollment with fundamentals of nursing completed.

Responsibilities

• May function in patient care assistant and/or unit secretary role.
• Provides support to the nursing staff and patient care under supervision of licensed staff and leaders.
• Coordinates clerical activities for the unit with patients, hospital departments, physicians and other customers.
• Unit secretary serves as the focal point of communication on the nursing unit.
