Freeman Health in Siloam Springs, AR is seeking a PRN Unit Secretary to support nursing staff and coordinate clerical activities on the unit. May function as Patient Care Assistant or Unit Secretary, serving as focal point of communication.

Preferred requirements include completion of clerical or medical terminology course, PCA or CNA certification, or enrollment in an RN degree program with fundamentals of nursing.

Qualifications

• Completion of clerical or medical terminology course
• Patient Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A.) course completion certificate
• Or, currently enrolled in an RN degree program and have completed a fundamentals of nursing curriculum.

Responsibilities

• May function in patient care assistant and/or unit secretary role at any given time.
• Provides support to the nursing staff and patient care through the direction and guidance of licensed staff and leaders.
• Coordinates clerical activities for the unit/staff in coordination with patients, hospital departments, physicians and other customers.
• The unit secretary is the focal point of communication on the nursing unit.
