Job summary

Ascension is seeking a dedicated healthcare assistant for the Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX, in the Pre Op department. The role is full-time, daytime, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 5a to 2:30p.

You will assist with patient movement, daily living activities, and documentation of changes in condition. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (or 1 year of relevant experience) and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Requires BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• High School diploma or GED or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience. Licensure/certification may replace education/experience.

• Assist with movement and placement of patients.
• Help patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Document findings and changes in patient conditions for nursing staff.
• Maintain clean, organized patient rooms and care environments.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
