We Are Hiring
  • Department: Cardiothoracic Stepdown
  • Schedule: Part-Time Day; two 12-hour shifts, E/3rd weekend, holiday rotation
  • Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent
  • Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

We are a 48-bed high-acuity ICU stepdown unit offering bedside cardiac care. Our patient care technicians (PCTs) provide assistance in support of our nurses, focusing on a subset of heart failure patients with LVADs. We also care for open heart surgeries (CABG, valve repair, etc.), heart transplants, kidney transplants, leg bypasses, and various cardiovascular conditions requiring chest tubes. Join our dedicated, highly skilled team as we work together to provide quality, compassionate, innovative, patient-centered care!

Prefer hospital experience and bedside patient care support.

What You Will Do
  • Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
  • Aid in movement and positioning of patients.
  • Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
  • Report changes in physical, mental, or emotional conditions to nursing staff and document necessary records.
  • Maintain patient rooms, keep them clean and orderly, and ensure medical equipment is functioning properly.
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date. Acceptable from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent OR 1 year of relevant job experience.
    Note: Professional licensure or certification can substitute for education or experience if applicable.
