Summary of Job Duties: This posting will be used to fill multiple positions.

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs patient care tasks that do not require a license, supporting the multidisciplinary team in the H6 Hospital Medicine Unit, a 30-bed medical/surgical unit providing 24-hour care, including for patients with liver disease, renal issues, respiratory conditions, immune system diseases, GI diseases, musculoskeletal/integrative diseases, and postoperative care. Telemetry is available for cardiac concerns. The patient population ranges from young adults to geriatrics.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED and successful completion of a patient care technician course within 3 months of hire.
  • Good communication skills, ability to follow oral instructions, basic computer skills, strong work ethic, and accountability.
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs. to waist height.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred:

  • Certification as a nursing assistant or military corpsman.
  • Patient care experience in an acute care setting.

The PCT works under RN supervision, performing non-licensed tasks, and must pass required competencies. Responsibilities include communication with RNs, assisting with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, transport, implementing care plans, documenting care activities, and supporting patients and visitors.

Additional Information:

Applicants are subject to an online reference check. Valid email required for reference process. New hires must complete 5 weeks of training, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform constant, frequent, and occasional physical activities, lift and push over 100 lbs, and work inside a medical facility with moderate noise. Visual and hazard awareness required.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
