Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Central Kentucky in Danville, KY is recruiting a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for a PRN/Per Diem role with 12-hour Day and Night shifts. The position supports nursing staff and delivers compassionate patient care in a post-ICU setting.

Responsibilities include hourly rounds, patient bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and transport assistance. Requires HS diploma/GED or 3+ years hospital experience, CNA cert or equivalent, and BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 3+ years related hospital experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing using basinless methods, oral hygiene, and feeding.
• Participate in hourly rounds and monitor patient well-being.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and aid in moving patients using stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments, bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs; keep rooms orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
