Job summary

Hillcrest Hospital Pryor is seeking a Medical-Surgical Patient Care Technician for day shift in Pryor, OK. You will assist patients with daily activities, monitor vitals, and support registered nurses and other clinical staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS within 14 days of hire, and ACLS within 60 days. Preferred candidates have 1 year Med-Surg experience or CNA/PCT certification, or are enrolled in nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities (bathing, dressing, eating) and ADLs.
• Observe and report patient progress to nursing/medical staff.

• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure intake/output and assist with range of motion; draw blood.

• Hillcrest Hospital Pryor is a 48-bed acute care hospital that provides a range of health care services to the community, including emergency services, urology, ENT, gastroenterology, cardiology, orthopedics, general surgery and wound care.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS (within 60 days of hire).

Preferred Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year Med Surg experience.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing schoo
