Job summary

Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to provide routine patient care under supervision. The role includes ambulation, bathing, feeding and responding to call lights, while maintaining patient comfort and safety throughout shifts.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, and CNA certification. Rotating days/evenings/nights are included with weekend and holiday coverage; a shift differential applies for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.
• Comfort with ambulation, bathing, feeding and other care activities.
• Willingness to work rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care and support services.
• Greet patients and answer inquiries; assist with gifts, flowers and mail.
• Ambulate patients, assist with transfers, collect specimens as needed.
• Prepare requisitions and coordinate outpatient appointments.
• Maintain patient rooms, linens and cleaning tasks.
