UPMC Northwest is hiring a full-time Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician to join the 3 South Medical Oncology Team. The role involves rotating shifts, including every other weekend and holiday, and requires delivering routine patient care under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, vital signs, blood glucose, I&O, specimen collection, and basic procedures, as well as occasional advanced skills such as phlebotomy and EKG.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Successful completion of UPMC patient care technician class is expected.
• EMT or Paramedic preferred but not required.
• Enrollment in PT/OT/PA or health-related program with clinical rotations is a plus.

Mansioni

• Provide patient care including assisting with procedures and activities of daily living.
• Perform core nursing assistant tasks (blood glucose, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimen collections, Foley care).
• Assist with a range of listed advanced skills (phlebotomy, 12 lead EKG, simple dressings, Foley removal, point of care testing, bladder scan, IV removal).
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with the RN and health care team.
