Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA seeks a full-time Patient Care Technician for the Med/Surg Telemetry Unit (Days, 7A–7P). You will provide direct patient care, support ADLs, monitor vitals, and assist with mobility under RN supervision.

Required HS Diploma or equivalent and BLS within 90 days. Eligible candidates may hold CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or similar certifications; one year of related healthcare experience is preferred. Sentara offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive base pay.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• One of the following certifications is required: CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, US Navy Hospital Corps School, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and document changes.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation of patients.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection.
• Perform EKG testing and Foley catheter insertion/removal as directed by RN.
