Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the MedSurg unit. You will work under RN supervision to provide direct clinical and support services, enhancing patient comfort and safety while upholding our patient-centered care model.

This 36-hour night schedule includes every other weekend and holiday. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS/CPR, and the ability to pass competency testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS/CPR certification current or obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to pass clinical competency testing.
• Physical ability to perform duties.
• Basic math and computer proficiency.
• One year of PCT experience or active nursing progression/EMT experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and assist with activities of daily living.
• Provide patient care support such as bathing, feeding, dressing wounds, and hygiene assistance.
• Support environmental and inventory tasks to maintain a safe, clean unit.
• Assist in delivering high-quality patient/family care and coordinate with the nursing team.
