Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Adult Short Stay Unit (LL JCP). This 70% night shift role supports the Nursing team under RN supervision in a short-stay medical/surgical environment in Iowa City.

Duties include vital signs, basic procedures, patient transfers, and daily care to ensure safe transitions home after a 24–48 hour stay. Minimum eligibility requires the ability to read and write and follow instructions; candidates will undergo background

Responsibilities

• Independently obtain and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Carries out basic medical asepsis and tasks such as phlebotomy, IV removal, and Foley catheter removal and care.
