Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by performing basic nursing functions and assisting with activities of daily living under RN supervision. The PCT helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, complies with hospital policies, and observes nursing regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Implementing nursing care plans and performing delegated patient care tasks.
• Recording patient information such as vital signs, intake/output, and other data.
• Assisting with mobility, transfers, discharges, and demonstrating proper body mechanics.
• Collecting specimens for tests, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.
• Helping patients with daily activities like eating, bathing, grooming, and elimination.
• Serving as Monitor/Telemetry Tech as needed.
• Practicing evidence-based methods to enhance patient safety and experience.

Qualifications:

Preferred: CNA, LNA, EMT training, or Military Medic training.

Minimum: 1+ years of experience in acute care or as a military medic preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days or by end of orientation.
