Sentara is currently hiring a Patient Care Technician to work at Sentara Leigh Hospital on the Med Surg/Hematology Unit.
Full-time, night shift, 6pm to 6am
This is a brand-new, state-of-the-art 24-bed unit offering a wide variety of medical diagnoses including CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, and Stroke. Our specialty is caring for patients with chronic blood disorders such as Sickle Cell. Our staff members come from diverse backgrounds, enabling us to provide culturally competent care. Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members supervised by a professional nurse. They implement delegated nursing care, support patient admissions and discharges, and ensure patient safety. They observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes to the nurse.

High School Diploma or Equivalent
One year of healthcare experience preferred.
