Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). This on-site, full-time night-shift role supports licensed nurses by providing delegated care, observing patients, and assisting with admissions and discharges.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or Equivalent and BLS within 90 days. CNA/NCMA/NCPCT/Navy Hospital Corps programs and related clinical experience are considered; current nursing students may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BLS Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Multiple licensure/certification options acceptable (CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, EMR/EMS/EMT/Paramedic, Navy Hospital Corps School).
• Current clinical student status with RN/LPN/RT/PT coursework considered.

Responsibilities

Approximately 7pm to 7am**Department/Position Overview:**The Intermediate Care (IMCU) is a 24-bed unit located on the 3rd floor at Sentara Princess Anne hospital. Our patient population consists of medical surgical patients, patients requiring Bipaps and Chronic Ventilators. We are also a Stroke Certified unit.If you’re looking for a fast-paced unit with a supportive team. We would love for you to apply. We are willing to work with students schedules who are currently enrolled in a nursing program.Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse.
