Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Vascular Unit in Norfolk, VA. This Full Time Day Shift covers three 12-hour days from 7:00am to 7:00pm with rotating weekends and holidays.

The PCT will support daily living activities, monitor vital signs, assist with mobility, phlebotomy, EKG testing, IV removal, and specimen collection under RN direction in a 24-bed stepdown unit. A CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, or equivalent credential is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Certification/credential options include CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School, EMS/EMT/Paramedic, or RN/LPN/RT/PT clinical program.
• AHA BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with daily living activities.
• Monitor vital signs and mobility, perform phlebotomy and EKG testing as needed.
• Assist with specimen collection, IV removal, and Foley catheter care under RN supervision.
