Job summary

You must have completed an approved Nurse Assistant II course per the North Carolina Board of Nursing, possess active Nurse Aide II (and I) listings, and current BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Nurse Assistant II course approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Current Nurse Aide II Listing Card with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Current Nurse Aide I Registry listing with the NC Division of Facility Services Registry as a Nursing Assistant I.
• Current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• In psychiatric settings, aid patients in reality orientation and participate in behavior modification plans.
• Observe, collect, and document patient information and report significant changes.
• Provide care/treatments per plan of care including vital signs, wound care, and activities of daily living.
• Support patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Reinforce patient education and distribute materials as requested.
• Maintain work area and assist in orientation of new staff and students.
• Document patient understanding of instructions.
