Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant II to support licensed caregivers in the delivery of patient care on the Special Progressive Care Unit. Responsibilities include transporting patients/equipment, setting up rooms, and handling a wide range of clerical tasks on the patient care unit.

The role requires clinical knowledge, sterile technique, vitals monitoring, and adherence to care plans. Part-time, onsite at Nash Hospitals with a day schedule and 24 hours per week commitment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Nursing Assistant credentials (NA I/II) listed by NC Board.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers and CPR certifications required.
• 1 year clerical/customer service plus 6 months nursing assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes to RN or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, review orders, transcribe orders, maintain medical records, perform QA audits and inventory.
• Provide administrative and clerical support including PI audits and data entry.
• Provide clinical support: clean work areas, troubleshoot equipment, transport patients/supplies, orient new staff.
• Provide direct personal care per plan of care: vitals, activities of daily living, possible specimens, wound care, and basic procedures.
• Reinforce patient teaching and ensure patient understanding of instructions.
