Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care in North Carolina is hiring a Part Time Nurse Assistant II for night shifts in the NGH 2Nw Ob Gyn unit. You will provide routine direct and indirect patient care under supervision, assist with examinations, and support families through admissions and discharge.

The ideal candidate will have NC Nurse Aide II and I registrations, BCLS certification, and the ability to operate basic office tasks while assisting in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Nurse Assistant II course as required by NC Board of Nursing.
• Active Nurse Aide II listing with NC Board of Nursing.
• Active Nurse Aide I registry listing in NC.
• Current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and health care providers with routine examinations and procedures and procurement of equipment and supplies during emergencies.
• In psychiatric settings, aid patients in orientation, participate in therapy, provide de-escalation and support, and monitor milieu activities.
• Observe, collect, and document patient information and report significant changes to a nurse or physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge processes.
• Provide care including vital signs, measurements, wound care, glucose checks, and ROM exercises as per plan.
• Deliver direct personal care for ADL tasks such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation assistance.
• Provide indirect care: cleaning, stocking, sterilizing, transporting, and clerical support.
• Reinforce patient education and distribute educational materials as requested.

Education

Completion of an approved Nurse Assistant II course approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing

Current Nurse Aide II Listing Card with the North Carolina Board of Nursing

Current Nurse Aide I Registry listing with the NC Division of Facility Services Registry as a Nursing Assistant I

Current BCLS certification
