Job summary

UNC Health Nash, part of the UNC Health system, is seeking a Nursing Assistant II to support patient care on the Special Progressive Care Unit. You will assist clinicians, transport patients, set up rooms and handle clerical duties to help maintain efficient operations.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, active NC Nursing Assistant II (and possibly I) licensure, BLS/CPR, and at least 1 year of clerical or customer service experience plus 6 months nursing assistant experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Nursing Assistant II licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certifications required.
• One year of clerical or customer service experience and six months of nursing assistant experience required.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Maintain and coordinate patient care unit desk activities, including documentation and orders.
• Provide clerical support such as greeting visitors, reviewing orders for logic, and data entry; perform routine quality audits and inventory checks.
• Provide direct patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and monitor vital signs as ordered.
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute education materials as requested by caregivers.
