Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN in a stable patient population. You will assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers and help maintain a safe, clean unit.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, documenting care in the EMR, and supporting quality and patient-satisfaction initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Limited or no experience: Must attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities such as ADL, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, intake/output, meals, height/weight, glucose testing, transportation, and documentation in EMR.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives including bedside shift report and hourly rounding for safety.
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I/O, restraints, specimens, and other treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
