Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a nursing assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination. The role supports RNs in caring for clinically stable patients and helps ensure patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include documenting vitals, assisting with activities of daily living, promoting hygiene, and participating in rounds and safety initiatives. Strong communication and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• CPR certification required.
• Preferred enrollment in ASN/BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct patient care and activities such as ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, intake/output, and documentation.
• Participate in quality initiatives and bedside rounding to promote safety and cleanliness.
• Document vital signs, weights, I&O, and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with unit activities including supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
