Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Nursing Assistant who provides direct patient care and assists with non-direct patient care unit coordination. The incumbent supports RNs in caring for stable and acutely ill patients, performs basic nursing procedures, and maintains patient privacy and dignity throughout care.

Responsibilities include timely documentation in the electronic medical record, adherence to policies, and helping with admissions, discharges, and transfers on the inpatient unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
• Limited or no experience; must be able to attend 2 weeks of training
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to perform basic mathematics
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• ADL assistance and vital signs documentation.
• Mobility, specimen collection and intake/output tracking.
• Blood glucose testing and point-of-care testing.
• O2 documentation, transport and early mobilization.
• Time management to complete tasks.
• Quality and patient-satisfaction initiatives involvement.
• Document vital signs, weights, I&O, treatments.
• Stock supplies and clean equipment on unit.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
